WSST-TV 55 is a full-service, independent, UHF commercial broadcast station operating from Cordele, Georgia, in the Albany (145) market area.

The station is an affiliate of CNN Newsource. WSST-TV is currently seen over the air as well as on more than 60 different cablesystems. The station prides itself on carrying more live local programming than any other station in theSouth-Central Georgia area and it also covers more special events such as high school sports, festivals, dedications and community events of every description for all of South-Central Georgia.

WSST-TV contracts with producers and franchised organizations for many top-rated programs. Some examples of those are: "Extra", "Family Feud", "The Insider", "Access Hollywood", "The People's Court", "Cold Case", "Law and Order", "FBI Files", "MGM Movies" and many others.

The station produces a 2 1/2-hour live morning program from 6:00-8:30 AM, a live noon hour, a live teen program from 4-4:45 PM daily and a live news cast starting at 6 PM. In response to special needs of the minority community, the station dedicates Sunday morning to news, music and religion to fill this special need.

WSST-TV began broadcasting over the air in June of 1989 and was preceded by eight years as a cable-only station. All of the principal department heads are well-seasoned in the television business and many came up during the early developmental years of the TV business. The most recent accomplishment is a total change of production facilities to digital as well as the use of digital disc for on air presentations. WSST-TV is telecasting in digital on Digital Channel 51.
